The American Pomological Society is the oldest fruit organization in North America, founded by Marshall P. Wilder in 1848 to foster the science and practice of fruit production and variety development.

‘Brewster’ lychee. Litchi chinensis is the only member of the genus Litchi in the Sapindaceae family. Lychee is a sub-tropical fruit native to south China where it has been cultivated for more than 1000 years.
